Ok, Filco tenkeyless keyboard (Majestouch 2)
I don't do review that often and my English kinda sux as it is not my primary language...so bear with me...I'll try my best to explain the pros n cons about this keyboard:)
Filco keyboard is a mechanical keyboard, if u guys dont know what is a mechanical keyboard, well, here is the link--> mechanical keyboard
There are 5 types of mechanical switches, mx blue, brown, black, red and clear
the one that i bought comes with mx blue switches..which is clicky and tactile
Before i bought this keyboard, i was stuck between Razer blackwidow expert and filco, the shop assistant was nice and he let me try both of the keyboards. After trying them out, i prefer the Filco's one n here are some reasons...
Ok, both of them are using mx blue switches however the clicking sound is different,
Filco has a louder clicking sound compare to razer BW. Filco sounds more hmm brighter? which i like and the keys are more solid n feel much better to press the key down on the filco keyboard compare to BW:)
The BW do have some extra macro keys and function key to let you switch to gaming mode or to access your media keys which i think is not necessary for me. I prefer old-school keyboard..the reason for this is because the razer is too fancy...eg light on the Razer logo...filco tenkeyless is more compact and it looks just nice and not that fancy...so it is more suitable to use in office n also gaming at home...
Oh ya...the weight of the keyboards...the weight of bw is around 1.4kg and filco is around 1kg...
filco tenkeyless KB has a smaller size so it is more portable...i guess if u r just using it at home the size doesnt matter..
BW has a glossy finish while the filco's has a hmm 'matte' finish
this makes BW are more 'dust' and finger print magnet which is bad coz u hav to clean it more often:)
oh ya...and mayb more easily to get scratched too. so i prefer the matte finish
NKRO
BW has 2KRO while filco has true NKRO with ps/2 connection and 6kro with usb connection. Nkey Rollover (NKRO) NKRO means you can press the entire keyboard keys at the same time and it can detect every single key being press. BW just able to recognize max 2 keys when pressed at the same time....Ok i just found out that it may be very important for those fps pro gamers when they need to jump, crouch, throw a grenade at the same time? or jump and crouch and perform a sniper shot? so the filco wins in term of NKRO.
[I have realized there are some info regarding the NKRO is not correct and thx to Cyclonechuah and kEazYc in low yat forum, i am able to give the correct information regarding to the NKRO] thx:)
hmm i guess the only cons that i can think of for filco KB is the num pad? but is not a big problem for me coz i dont really use it that much...well, if u really need one u can always purchase a cheap num pad rite?
ok, i guess thats pretty much it for the keyboard
If you have any questions pls leave a comment and i m happy to help
Conclusion
Filco KB is a good investment if you want a good keyboard
for the switches i think is more about personal preference....so pls do try it out
coz i was thinking to get a brown switches before i had the chance to try it out...so, try before you purchase:)
here are some pictures of my Filco
